Spring Training - Waterford to Lovettsville

My favorite road in #VAWine country and I think I've seen almost all of them...or not.  What are your favorite roads out here?  This happens to be pretty close to me and will be able to run with some teammates come spring.  Not now, it's muddy February!

Featherbed Lane, Waterford, VA - total roundtrip 6 miles.  Add a hilly leg from Community Center, approximately 9 miles...will I ever get there?

WeeklyMile is not a good start

I know it's DailyMile not WeeklyMile, which sent me a nice little report that I logged 0 miles last week.  Oh well, but I did SKI all weekend and it was marvelous.

Hanging in there with Tony on P90X and cardio X plyometrics both today and yesterday...working warrior 1 and 2 and loving the jump shot action having never played basketball.  Catch it shoot it, catch it shoot it.  Swoosh!

Ciao

18 Week Training program

Starts Feb 1st - send me your training program suggestions.  I don't mind paying as I'm on a team of 6, but anything free is always nice.

Someone's running somewhere.

Got to start somewhere

It's the skier in me.  I start training on a snow day!  I know I'm not 16 anymore and will never have the stamina like it again, but that's what I was doing at 16, ski racing and training in the mountains of New Hampshire.  I think I actually choose to do this, but I really had no idea what I was getting myself into.  I learned to love the cold air exhirlation of running early in the morning and after afternoon training.  I'm glad that chapter in my life is way over!

So here I am 40 yrs old and decided to run a 1/2 marathon.  The last time I actually ran was for a 5k 3 yrs ago a friend asked me to run with her and I only ran once before the race!  Before that, I ran a 10k, my farthest race to date, in July and swore never again!

Now 8 years from the 10k, 2 two kids and a few more pounds, came the announcement that Virginia was the next destination race for Wine runs!  Wine fest at the end?  Sign me up! My husband about hit the floor when I told him not only had I decided I was going to do it, but paid the registration!!!

Just returning from vacation last week and blabbing to everyone who would listen - I'm running a 1/2 marathon - I knew it was time to get moving.  So today, I have no idea how far I went, maybe 1 or 1.5 miles, but it was a jog/walk.  That's how they say to start, or maybe just to walk.  I will certainly know why they say to just walk tomorrow - soreness is already begun to creep...
I did feel good to hit the home stretch here - creek to creek!  This is Loudoun :)
